About

Carrie Aronson

Carrie has worked as an educational consultant for over ten years.  Before focusing solely on independent consulting, Carrie was a guidance counselor at Lexington High School.  She enjoys working closely with students and their families as they navigate the entire college process.  Student self-discovery and personal growth are central to Carrie’s approach.  Carrie utilizes her background in school counseling to evaluate students’ interests and needs as they prepare for this exciting transition in their lives.

Having spent several years as a school guidance counselor, Carrie actively advises students throughout high school regarding course selection, summer opportunities, extra-curricular interests, and academic performance.

The college search is a continuation of the developmental growth and change that occurs throughout high school.  Carrie particularly enjoys helping students with their application essays.  While this piece is often one of the most anxiety-provoking, Carrie sees it as an opportunity for students to have a little fun and to learn about themselves.

Carrie was raised in Queens, New York City.  She rode the subway to high school and loved being a part of the vibrant city life.  While Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine was quite a change, Carrie savored her time up north.  After completing her A.B. from Bowdoin and teaching for two years, she received her M.A. from New York University in School Counseling.  Before entering the public school system, Carrie was an Academic Advisor for undergraduate students at Boston University. She worked as a school counselor in both the Lexington and Cohasset public school systems.

Volunteer service is an important part of Carrie’s life.  She is dedicated to helping pro bono clients who would otherwise be unable to access college counseling services.  She has been involved in local scholarship initiatives and has served as an alum interviewer for Bowdoin for over fifteen years.

Carrie enjoys spending time with her husband and three children.
